From Dull to Sharp in Three Easy StepsThe PowerSharp offers a new alternative to sharpening a chain manually on your own, taking it to a shop, or trying to make due with a dull chain.
When your chain becomes dull, simply attach the bar-mount sharpener to the PowerSharp bar by sliding the steel pins through the guide holes--there's no need to remove the chain from the saw. Close and latch the cover and then start the chainsaw. While accelerating the chainsaw, press the foot of the sharpener against a solid object, applying light pressure for three to five seconds. The large, spring-loaded, treaded foot allows you to apply controlled pressure, even against uneven surfaces. Within seconds, you're back in the cut with a precision-sharpened chain.
Precision Sharpening Mechanism Can Be Used Multiple TimesWith steel pins that go straight through the bar, the design of the PowerSharp sharpening system ensures that there is exact alignment between the cutter and the honing surface, for perfect angles and knife-sharp edges. The thick, crescent-shaped sharpening stone provides a long-lasting honing surface.
The guidance drive link works together with the cutter, cutter depth gauge, and depth gauge tie strap to provide the stability required to create a consistent cutting edge. The chain and the sharpener work together, as a diamond-coated dresser link resurfaces the stone, ensuring optimum honing angles.
Designed to last as long as conventionally sharpened chains, each PowerSharp chain can be sharpened from 5 to 15 times, depending on conditions. A new sharpening stone is included with each new replacement PowerSharp purchased and should be replaced. This kit is for 3/8-inch-pitch low profile chain, .050-inch-gauge cutting systems with 52-drive links.
Portable Sharpening SystemThe PowerSharp Starter Kit is small enough to fit into your toolbox and light enough to carry with you, so you'll always be ready to sharpen a dull chain. Though the four components of the system are lightweight, they are extremely durable. The bar-mounted sharpener has a highly visible yellow casing that prevents misplacing the sharpener in the field, even in low light.
